When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zaccheo Andolina sped through Doffes Damer's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Greid Tinsmith. In the 11th match minute, Doffes Damer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feliks Gniech to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Doffes Damer's Göran Vedholm got a free kick in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zaccheo Andolina in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Greid Tinsmith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Inge Braa took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Flavio Vittori to make any attempt to save it. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inge Braa in the 20th minute of play. Italy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Inge Braa scored to the left of an out of position Flavio Vittori, making the score, 2-1. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Porziano Marchitelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Greid Tinsmith. Doffes Damer's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zaccheo Andolina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 47th minute, Sigfrido Auletta made a precise shot to the right of Greid Tinsmith. Doffes Damer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

The wind increased when Zaccheo Andolina made the kick off in the second half. Zena Busacca made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Porziano Marchitelli however managed to control. Pier Kopacz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Doffes Damer's Ronaldo Cristi was substituted for Inge Braa. After 67 minutes of play, Doffes Damer's Ronaldo Cristi made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Doffes Damer getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Kaj Lund hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Doffes Damer's goalkeeper Greid Tinsmith had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Porziano Marchitelli. In the 79th minute, Ronaldo Cristi made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Porziano Marchitelli got free with Greid Tinsmith in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Italy made a substitution. Greid Tinsmith yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-4. Porziano Marchitelli kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Greid Tinsmith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Curto, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Ronaldo Cristi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavio Vittori having to make a save. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldo Cristi in the 95th minute of play. Italy were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
