The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Italy booed when DREAM TEAM WORLD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betinho de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zaccheo Andolina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lu Zhen Sheng having to make a save. Lu Zhen Sheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 12th minute of the match. Andrzej Zapolski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Vittori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Andrzej Zapolski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andrzej Zapolski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Andrzej Zapolski managed to get in a good position for a shot. DREAM TEAM WORLD's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrzej Zapolski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavio Vittori breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Andrzej Zapolski came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gianpaolo Mascari made in the 29th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Zaccheo Andolina. Lu Zhen Sheng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lu Zhen Sheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 30th minute of play. Lu Zhen Sheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 36th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Andrzej Zapolski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavio Vittori was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. 47 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Andrzej Zapolski came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

DREAM TEAM WORLD made a substitution. André Luís Lessard replaced Andrzej Zapolski. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, André Luís Lessard made a precise shot to the right of Flavio Vittori. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Lu Zhen Sheng made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Sigfrido Auletta sent off a good shot on target. After 59 minutes DREAM TEAM WORLD's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sigfrido Auletta who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Italy's Sigfrido Auletta to fire away a dangerous shot which Lu Zhen Sheng despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Zaccheo Andolina struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Lu Zhen Sheng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Luís Lessard in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Vittori prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to DREAM TEAM WORLD getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Miguel Furtado hit a great ball. A throw-in in the 75th minute of the game was made by Miguel Furtado with Paulo Jon as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 79 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when André Luís Lessard came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute Wilfredo Cutberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lu Zhen Sheng made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Deodato Magliozzi sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, DREAM TEAM WORLD's Luiz Fabiano Castro got a free kick in the 90th minute. Italy made a substitution. Sansone Vanella replaced Gianpaolo Mascari. After 92 played minutes, Italy's Siricio Liotta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lu Zhen Sheng came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Italy reached it. 94 minutes into the match, Adriano Curto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lu Zhen Sheng, 4-1. André Luís Lessard took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Italy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
