After a rather tough play, Fazendinha's Válbson Arce got a free kick in the 16th minute. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Felipe Fontes in the 22 minute of the game. Maximino Acevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 23rd minute of the match. After 24 played minutes Fazendinha got a freekick which was hit by Válbson Arce. Maximino Acevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sigfrido Auletta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Fazendinha were awarded a corner. Alf Håning went to the cornerflag to take it. Felipe Fontes made in the 31st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. When Siricio Liotta came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Siricio Liotta couldn't finish the play. Arturo Bondi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Vittori having to interfere. Maximino Acevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 41st minute of play. Fazendinha's Maximino Acevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 45th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 47th minute of play forced Fazendinha's goalkeeper Maximino Acevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arturo Bondi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
