After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Fernandão Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos da Bahia Fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernandão Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Khalid Kennedy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, England's Xavier Gallagher got a free kick in the 9th minute. Khalid Kennedy acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Igor Ramalho. In the 11th minute, Micah Macdonald got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 15 minutes Santos da Bahia Fc's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Micah Macdonald who took care of the corner kick. After some careless play in the Santos da Bahia Fc defense, Issac Dawson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Róbson Amorim. The Santos da Bahia Fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Róbson Amorim should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute, Lisa Simpson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, England's Kyle Cox sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Róbson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. England's Kyle Cox got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute Bala Mole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khalid Kennedy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Santos da Bahia Fc's Bala Mole slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Khalid Kennedy. That made the score 1-1 after 32 minutes of play. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos da Bahia Fc's goalkeeper Róbson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandão Penha came free, but Khalid Kennedy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kyle Cox stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. William Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Khalid Kennedy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 minutes of play, England's Issac Dawson made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Róbson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Micah Macdonald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Santos da Bahia Fc's goalkeeper Róbson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Micah Macdonald. William Cosme hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Róbson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Issac Dawson, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute, Issac Dawson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute Lisa Simpson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khalid Kennedy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caelan Hayes hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Dinei Lara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Khalid Kennedy. England's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 88th match minute, England was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seth Young to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 89 minutes, Bala Mole managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santos da Bahia Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bala Mole was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cooper Thompson hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Khalid Kennedy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinei Lara in the 94th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Bala Mole came free, but Khalid Kennedy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. England played a much better game than Santos da Bahia Fc and deserved their victory. The Santos da Bahia Fc players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
