Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Norrlands Athen's Erik Ljusberg started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Berglund to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Manfred Fribäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Amorim was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nicolás Castillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Nicolás Castillo notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Manfred Fribäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 37th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viriato Moura in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manfred Fribäck saved Norrlands Athen from getting behind. In the 40th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Fabricio Andrade almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck did a great save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Viriato Moura made a kick off. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 50th minute of the match, but Manfred Fribäck made a huge save. Nicolás Castillo took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Viriato Moura received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Manfred Fribäck came out and tried to block the shot, but Viriato Moura slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 60th minute. Norrlands Athen made a substitution. Tord Lundin replaced Qian Zhen Sheng. Manfred Fribäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Erik Ljusberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Gilbert Hermansson struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Norrlands Athen. Manfred Fribäck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 86th minute of play. After 94 minutes, Filcho Slivkov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Norrlands Athen and the Portugal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Athen's Filcho Slivkov got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Portugal players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
