In the 10th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Siricio Liotta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th match minute, ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Bussi to maneuver through the defense. Nicolas Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the game's 18th minute Italy's Sigfrido Auletta took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Nicolas Britto and thus the score was 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's Fathoni Baso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Vittori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Petrosino in the 26th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruy Nunes made in the 30th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Fathoni Baso immediately put the ball in play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fathoni Baso got free with Flavio Vittori in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zaccheo Andolina hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 43rd minute of play forced ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's goalkeeper Nicolas Britto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th match minute, ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Nunes to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Italy's Porziano Marchitelli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicolas Britto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Italy were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hannes Hellsing hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Porziano Marchitelli struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Nicolas Britto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ's Lauro Leite was substituted for Fathoni Baso. ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ made a substitution. Cody Miles replaced Hannes Hellsing. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lauro Leite in the 73rd minute of play. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauro Leite in the 74th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Italy's Siricio Liotta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicolas Britto. That made the score 0-2 after 77 minutes of play. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicolas Britto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Lauro Leite cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Flavio Vittori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. Nicolas Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Curto, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 89 minutes, Guilherme Ramos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ and the Italy players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Italy booed when ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over Italy could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ҜΔΜƗҜΔŽ€Ş ĆƗΜŽ throughout the match.
