The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Vittori should have stopped the shot. Manfred Kottsieper scored 3-2 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Flavio Vittori, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Alemannia Aachen's Lech Wawrukiewicz got a free kick in the 76th minute.
