In the 6th minute Samurai were awarded a corner. Allan Bivall went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Allan Bivall got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zacarias Ascencio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 8 minutes into the match, Wu Qi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio. Zacarias Ascencio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 11th minute Marcus Skytt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Ascencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wu Qi in the 22nd minute of play forced Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Ruben Gomez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vince Di Cola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Bivall in the 25th minute of play. Benny Niva might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vince Di Cola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benny Niva ran back to his position shaking his head. Zacarias Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wu Qi, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Vince Di Cola made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Benny Niva sent off a good shot on target. 37 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's goal looked a bit too open when Wu Qi came free, but Zacarias Ascencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 minutes Celta de Virgos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Allan Bivall who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Samurai's Allan Bivall to fire away a dangerous shot which Zacarias Ascencio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 46th match minute, Celta de Virgos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Skondras to maneuver through the defense. The Celta de Virgos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Samurai were winning 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Wu Qi in the 53rd minute of play forced Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samurai's Vince Di Cola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benny Niva in the 55th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christos Skondras during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th minute, Christos Skondras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Celta de Virgos's Filip Leucuța was substituted for Biagio Pavlu. In the 59th match minute, Celta de Virgos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Skondras to maneuver through the defense. Wu Qi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zacarias Ascencio having to make a save. After 79 minutes, Hector Abilio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Celta de Virgos and the Samurai players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Celta de Virgos's Hector Abilio got a free kick in the 79th minute. Samurai's Terry Silver was substituted for Hernán Grana. In the 81st minute, Hector Abilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zacarias Ascencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Bivall in the 82nd minute of the match. Christos Skondras hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when Samurai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esbjörn Hultstrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Dündar Aynacıoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samurai's Allan Bivall couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Celta de Virgos. The Samurai supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Samurai would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
