Takacs Tibor's late challenge caught a Olympique Fribourg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Takacs Tibor helped the player get up and apologised. Takacs Tibor hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Téo Savion's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fodor Daniel firmly grabbed it by the left post. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raik Topuz, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 12 minutes Hungary's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcellus Walpert who took care of the corner kick. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the game, Hungary's Antal Valentin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick Knechtli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Hungary booed when Olympique Fribourg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Schroeder didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 27th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Patrick Knechtli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raik Topuz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Patrick Knechtli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Balazs Lajos in the 34th minute of the match. Patrick Knechtli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 38th minute of play. Balazs Lajos hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Téo Savion managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympique Fribourg's supporters rose to their feet, but Téo Savion was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fodor Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Antal Valentin took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Patrick Knechtli. Patrick Knechtli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After the first half Hungary were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 53 played minutes Olympique Fribourg got a freekick which was hit by Herve Muller. Patrick Knechtli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Takacs Tibor in the 56th minute of play. Balazs Lajos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Patrick Knechtli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrick Knechtli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Herve Muller fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Fribourg's protests and gave Herve Muller a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Hungary's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympique Fribourg the free kick. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Vörös Henrik hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, Salomo Montandon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
