Aytek Samin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 49th minute, when El Retorno de Palermo's Belaid Ziani after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Tommy Kahn in Germany's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zygmunt Malik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Videl in the 57th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommy Kahn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zygmunt Malik in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zygmunt Malik to maneuver through the defense. Germany's Malte Schiele shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Aytek Samin but with some difficulty. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Aytek Samin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. Zygmunt Malik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavio Chuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, Martin Videl got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Videl in the 97th minute of the match.
