After 23 played minutes FC Blåvitt got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Tamminga. The supporters of Netherlands booed when FC Blåvitt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Vidman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarl Bredberg having to interfere. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Gil Talavera tried to sneak it across the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, FC Blåvitt's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Jarl Bredberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Dag Olofsson came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarl Bredberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 87th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Talavera in the 88th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Netherlands walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
