Ferrari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo de Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as S.C. Ferrari's Gergely Bollobás slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wilson Amorim. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Raul Caetano got a free kick in the 10th minute. Bernardo Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 12th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Gergely Bollobás reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Wilson Amorim. The goal made the score 2-1. Bernardo Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 played minutes S.C. Ferrari got a freekick which was hit by Coronel Salgado. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute, Váldson Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, S.C. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Felipe Barreto scored 2-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gergely Bollobás made a kick off. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gergely Bollobás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 52 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Almeida. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Gergely Bollobás stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Gergely Bollobás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from Faustino Almeida in the 57th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by S.C. Ferrari's Armandinho Vieira. 58 minutes into the game, S.C. Ferrari's Gergely Bollobás nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. S.C. Ferrari's Bernardo Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save S.C. Ferrari from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Portugal:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.C. Ferrari:s goal. Wilson Amorim had in the 64thth minute some difficulties stopping Gergely Bollobás's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 72nd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graciano Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. S.C. Ferrari's Dorian Severo was substituted for Carlos Duarte. In the 73rd minute, Graciano Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gergely Bollobás scored 4-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the match, S.C. Ferrari's Gergely Bollobás sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute of the match Coronel Salgado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilson Amorim skillfully saved the ball. In the 81st minute Gergely Bollobás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.C. Ferrari made a substitution. Furo Furenbrink replaced Gergely Bollobás. S.C. Ferrari were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Acácio de Andrade took the corner. After a rather tough play, S.C. Ferrari's Victor Otsando got a free kick in the 85th minute. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 93rd minute Dorian Severo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The S.C. Ferrari fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
