Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zeca Cordeiro started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 2nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sérgio Queiroz saved Capibaribe Stars from getting behind. A throw-in in the 4th minute of the game was made by Kees Mooiweer with Gijsbert ter Kruimer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sérgio Queiroz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sérgio Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Sérgio Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egbert Nijveldt in the 16th minute of the match. Capibaribe Stars's Sérgio Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 17th minute of play. David Eikelkamp took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Queiroz. Sérgio Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Gijsbert ter Kruimer scored 0-3 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sérgio Queiroz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute, Lars Meesters made a precise shot to the right of Sérgio Queiroz. Capibaribe Stars's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Capibaribe Stars defense, Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Queiroz. The Capibaribe Stars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Queiroz should have stopped the shot. Gustaaf Groeneveldt took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Queiroz. Sérgio Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Capibaribe Stars's Sérgio Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Eikelkamp in the 41st minute of play. Sérgio Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 43rd minute of play. David Eikelkamp took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Queiroz. Sérgio Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 47th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Sérgio Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Gustaaf Groeneveldts short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Sérgio Queiroz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Bas Tuitert notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Capibaribe Stars's Sérgio Queiroz. Sérgio Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp got a free kick in the 57th minute. Sérgio Queiroz made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute of the game Lars Meesters made a throw-in which Gijsbert ter Kruimer played forward. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 65 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Queiroz. Capibaribe Stars's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, Sérgio Queiroz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 72nd minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Sérgio Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-11. With a left leg Sérgio Queiroz saved Capibaribe Stars from getting behind. 82 minutes into the game, David Eikelkamp cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-13. Sérgio Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 85 minutes into the game, Lars Meesters recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sérgio Queiroz. Lars Meesters showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-14. Sérgio Queiroz was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Gustaaf Groeneveldt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt really showed his touch with that goal: 0-15. 93 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Sérgio Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 95th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Sérgio Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Meesters in the 96th minute of the match. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Capibaribe Stars throughout the match.
