Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonas Belkå. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. After 18 played minutes вιℓтємα got a freekick which was hit by Robert Belkå. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Håkan Johnsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of вιℓтємα:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Portugal:s goal. Bo Hedström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. In the 38th minute Per-Oskar Belkå shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Bo Hedström managed to get in a good position for a shot. вιℓтємα's supporters rose to their feet, but Bo Hedström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
