After 10 minutes lןןl La Coconeta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Felipe Barreto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ediberto Righi quite easily take care of the ball. Nicolás Tagliafico kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, lןןl La Coconeta's Israel Mikelar got a free kick in the 14th minute. Viriato Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Enrique in the 23rd minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 played minutes lןןl La Coconeta got a freekick which was hit by Javier Zanetti. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramiro Enrique to make the kick off. Portugal's attentive Daniel Pimentel managed to snatch the ball when Alexis Maldonado made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. In the 51st minute, Felipe Barreto reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ediberto Righi. The goal made the score 1-1. Caetano Moreira struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Ediberto Righi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. Ediberto Righi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Enrique in the 68th minute of play. lןןl La Coconeta's Eliseo Mouriño was substituted for Javier Zanetti. Josemir Lujambio scored 3-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Felipinho Amorim kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ediberto Righi. That made the score 3-2 in the 94 minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Portugal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for lןןl La Coconeta.
