David Aranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thibaut Vandamme having to interfere. Thibaut Vandamme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute Caio Hornilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute of the match Variante Delta got a corner. Spain's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ferdinand Bjørn ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Spain's goalie and right to Arano Murguiondo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Spain's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 29th minute of the match, Caio Hornilla tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gabriel Ascaso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Adria Bielsa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spain's supporters rose to their feet, but Adria Bielsa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thibaut Vandamme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio Hornilla in the 37th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thibaut Vandamme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thibaut Vandamme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Toledo in the 42nd minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Gabriel Ascaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caio Hornilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Omar Toledo in the 57th minute. In the 70th minute, Adria Bielsa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Variante Delta made a substitution. Enginalp İdilkurt replaced Ye Yao Le. Spain's Carles Cherro was substituted for Omar Toledo. Variante Delta made a substitution. Cordeara Sanjuan replaced Cuartio Sesmilo. Variante Delta's Thibaut Vandamme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Variante Delta from getting a goal against them. 75 minutes into the match, Variante Delta's goalkeeper Thibaut Vandamme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carles Cherro. Thibaut Vandamme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carles Cherro in the 88th minute. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Sergio Ruiz took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Thibaut Vandamme to make any attempt to save it. In the 96th minute, Sergio Ruiz reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Thibaut Vandamme. The goal made the score 0-2. Spain's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
