Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sandro Galishoff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Austria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig Malm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Verner Giliusson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Fabio Auer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 22ndth minute of the game Verner Giliusson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Austria's Fabio Auer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arne Mårtensson hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Verner Giliusson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Fabio Auer made a huge save. If Oskar Vesterberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sandro Galishoff to make the kick off.
