Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Pagomari in the 5th minute of play. 1-0 became the score in the 6th minute when Guido Pagomari elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, Guido Pagomari recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn. Guido Pagomari showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steve Oliver got free with Tommy Kahn in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alexander Bird took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Dreifuss to maneuver through the defense. Albin Holweck charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albin Holweck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Albin Holweck hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Symons got free with Tommy Kahn in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Steve Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guido Pagomari's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. William Symons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steve Oliver's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tommy Kahn firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 36th minute, Steve Oliver reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tommy Kahn. The goal made the score 3-0. Steve Oliver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Miliano hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Alexander Bird showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 53rd minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Pagomari came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Albin Holweck hit a great ball. Mayo made a substitution. Patrick Robins replaced Samuel Farmer. Mayo made a substitution. Alex Burton replaced Guido Pagomari. In the 71st minute Alex Burton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 minutes of play, Mayo's Des Gill made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Mayo's zone, Frank Sachs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexander Bird came out of the goal and Frank Sachs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alexander Bird showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Holweck, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Des Gill scored 8-0 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Des Gill in the 95th minute of play. Mayo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
