With his leg Wilson Amorim managed to avoid a goal in the 2ndth minute, when Motta Futebol Clube's Válbson de Alcântara fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Válbson de Alcântara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Wilson Amorim when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Lu Ladron sent off a good shot on target. In the 13th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. With an all-out effort, Motta Futebol Clube's Wilson Amorim threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Válbson de Alcântara, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aírton de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gilmar Garcia's late challenge caught a Portugal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilmar Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. After 22 played minutes Motta Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Garcia. 25 minutes into the game, Felipe Barreto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Aírton de Lima was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson de Alcântara in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 30th minute of play forced Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Aírton de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aírton de Lima. Motta Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felipe Barreto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 45th minute of play forced Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Aírton de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aírton de Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Válbson de Alcântara made a kick off. In the 51st minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Válbson de Alcântara took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Viriato Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aírton de Lima. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Viriato Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. Viriato Moura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Aírton de Lima made a huge save. 61 minutes into the match, Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Aírton de Lima had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Graciano Coutinho. 62 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson de Alcântara came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Vennerberg in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute Motta Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Dudu Hermes went to the cornerflag to take it. Aírton de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Motta Futebol Clube made a substitution. Armandinho Carvalho replaced Lu Ladron. 88 minutes into the match, Armandinho Carvalho notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 91 minutes of play, Motta Futebol Clube's Válbson de Alcântara made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Artur Sabóia took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-2. After 96 minutes of play, Motta Futebol Clube's Válbson de Alcântara made it 7-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the referee ended the match the Motta Futebol Clube players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
