Berni y Benja FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Amancio Videl in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Wim Wilmes hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 47th match minute, Berni y Benja FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pastor Tino to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Berni y Benja FC's Amancio Videl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Meesters in the 89th minute of play. Netherlands's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
