The Last Try
Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ke Xiang made the kick off which started today's match. Felipe Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tao Cheng Zhi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Vasile Pisculescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tao Cheng Zhi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 11th minute of play. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ke Xiang in the 13th minute of play. Tao Cheng Zhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vasile Pisculescu in the 19th minute of play. After 21 minutes of play, El ultimo's Bernabe Lucero made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th minute, Serafino Ignazio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The El ultimo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Vasile Pisculescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. In the 30th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Faustino Almeida heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 32nd match minute, El ultimo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafino Ignazio to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Viriato Moura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tao Cheng Zhi was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Eliseo Bernabel hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Tao Cheng Zhi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tao Cheng Zhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after El ultimo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felipe Barreto took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of El ultimo's goalie and right to Faustino Almeida. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. El ultimo's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind El ultimo's goalkeeper Tao Cheng Zhi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. El ultimo's Tao Cheng Zhi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save El ultimo from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 55th minute of play forced El ultimo's goalkeeper Tao Cheng Zhi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Eliseo Bernabel threw the ball into play from the sideline. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Tao Cheng Zhi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Portugal's Viriato Moura slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tao Cheng Zhi. That made the score 3-1 after 60 minutes of play. Vasile Pisculescu struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El ultimo. El ultimo's Tao Cheng Zhi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 66th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Tao Cheng Zhi in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tao Cheng Zhi was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Felipe Barreto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Felipe Barreto really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. El ultimo's Carlos Alberto Sabóia was substituted for Felipe Venceslas. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Tao Cheng Zhi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 82nd minute. Tao Cheng Zhi made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 90th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipinho Amorim in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tao Cheng Zhi saved El ultimo from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The El ultimo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Portugal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
