After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Rodolfo Miranda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rafa Moura quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patricio Cerezuela got free with Wilson Amorim in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Portugal booed when Jukatriz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Cerezuela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Eugênio do Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gylippus Panayiotopoulos in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Gylippus Panayiotopoulos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Cerezuela in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Garmer in the 52nd minute of play. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafa Moura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. Rafa Moura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipe Barreto in the 65th minute. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Illimar Truupõld hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. When Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jukatriz's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Felipinho Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot.
