Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jorge Iztal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the game Leandro Viviano made a throw-in which Abel Demario played forward. 25 minutes into the game, Gregorio Hotz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 30 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gregorio Hotz. Daniel Pimentel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jorge Iztal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregorio Hotz, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jorge Iztal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 38th minute of play. Jorge Iztal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The throw-in from Abel Demario in the 47th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gregorio Hotz to make the kick off. Jorge Iztal made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Jorge Iztal in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Portugal booed when Espirillo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rico Migachev didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Espirillo FC's Gregorio Hotz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Portugal's Viriato Moura in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Espirillo FC's goalie prevented a goal. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. After 68 played minutes Espirillo FC got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Viviano. Jorge Iztal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 69th minute. In the 73rd match minute, Espirillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Viviano to maneuver through the defense. Espirillo FC's Jorge Iztal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 74th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Cutberto came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Espirillo FC's Jorge Iztal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Espirillo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 83rd minute Gregorio Hotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Felipinho Amorim came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipinho Amorim couldn't finish the play. Daniel Pimentel was extremely unlucky when he, in the 88th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jorge Iztal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 89th minute of play. After 90 minutes Espirillo FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Pimentel who took care of the corner kick. Felipinho Amorim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Jorge Iztal made a huge save.
