In the 18th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaudencio Frichoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Sergio Maraman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gaudencio Frichoso skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Phelipe got free with Arnout Reekers in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 39th minute of play forced Club Real Cantera's goalkeeper Gaudencio Frichoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Club Real Cantera's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. Lars Meesters made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Club Real Cantera's Gaudencio Frichoso managed to reach the ball for a save. Emanuel Phelipe might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuel Phelipe ran back to his position shaking his head. After 45 played minutes Club Real Cantera got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Aznar. Club Real Cantera's Gaudencio Frichoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 46th minute of play. In the 48th minute Agustin Lain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Phelipe made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Phelipe came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaudencio Frichoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 55th minute of play. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emanuel Phelipe went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Wim Wilmes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gaudencio Frichoso was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 65th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaudencio Frichoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 74th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Real Cantera's Sergio Maraman. The long shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 77th minute really tested Gaudencio Frichoso's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 78 minutes into the match, Club Real Cantera's goalkeeper Gaudencio Frichoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Gaudencio Frichoso made a huge save. In the 81st match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gust Ennemans to maneuver through the defense. Club Real Cantera's Gaudencio Frichoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 87th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Club Real Cantera got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Schiavi. The Club Real Cantera support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
