In the 47th minute, Dida Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Dida Teixeira made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Ferreira Lopes MZC got a freekick which was hit by Dida Teixeira. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Ronaldo Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ferreira Lopes MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldo Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keld Paulsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The long shot by Chris Nygaard in the 86th minute really tested Tomé Montenegro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Bertram Svenningsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Tomé Montenegro made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ranko Perna during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 97 played minutes Ferreira Lopes MZC got a freekick which was hit by Ranko Perna. When the referee blew the final whistle, Ferreira Lopes MZC could leave the field as winners, despite Denmark having more of the ball for most of the match.
