Larry Hallam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Vitomir Starokin made a huge save. Elin Popovski made in the 13th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Mladen Balevski immediately put the ball in play. With a little luck, Bulgaria's Vitomir Starokin got control of the ball when Larry Hallam tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Bulgaria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rangel Parashkevov to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Bulgaria's goalkeeper Vitomir Starokin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Larry Hallam. Larry Hallam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Bulgaria getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Deyan Petrinski hit a great ball. With a little luck, Bulgaria's Vitomir Starokin got control of the ball when Ildefonso Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Mladen Balevski came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Bulgaria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mladen Balevski couldn't finish the play. After having played for 40 minutes, Larry Hallam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Andorra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Larry Hallam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Caleb Barrett came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bulgaria's Mladen Balevski. But to his dismay, Mladen Balevski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Caleb Barrett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mladen Balevski in the 45th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Bulgaria made a substitution. Stanislav Búlgarov replaced Mladen Balevski. When Andorra's Larry Hallam in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bulgaria's goalie prevented a goal. In the 55th minute Larry Hallam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitomir Starokin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andorra's Caleb Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Andorra from getting a goal against them. Stanislav Búlgarov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caleb Barrett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Bulgaria's Stanislav Búlgarov ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Caleb Barrett. Caleb Barrett yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Andorra made a substitution. Alex Martinez replaced Cucu Fernández. 74 minutes into the match, Bulgaria's goal looked a bit too open when Guillem Agulló came free, but Vitomir Starokin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caleb Barrett was out of position in the 77 minute of play, and Stanislav Búlgarov capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Stanislav Búlgarov really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Bulgaria's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
