Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viriato Moura started the match with the kick off. After some careless play in the SSV Ulm 1846 defense, Viriato Moura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timo Courtois. The SSV Ulm 1846 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timo Courtois should have stopped the shot. Timo Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Graciano Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. The corner led to Portugal's Viriato Moura getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 10 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Timo Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. When Don Merlot came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the SSV Ulm 1846 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Don Merlot couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Alberigo Sessa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Don Merlot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SSV Ulm 1846 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Timo Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Don Merlot went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Timo Courtois stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Viriato Moura's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After 36 minutes of play, Portugal's Viriato Moura made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Timo Courtois was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberigo Sessa in the 39th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 41st minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Timo Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Don Merlot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Alberigo Sessa came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 54 minutes into the match, Alberigo Sessa notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Timo Courtois in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute, Felipe Barreto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Sessa in the 65th minute of play. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. SSV Ulm 1846 were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sven-Olof Lilja took the corner. After taking down the ball on SSV Ulm 1846's corner Sven-Olof Lilja fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilson Amorim quite easily take care of the ball. In the 68th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Miranda to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 71st minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Timo Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Portugal fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Portugal's Felipinho Amorim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Don Merlot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, SSV Ulm 1846's Afonso Silveira got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute of the match, Caetano Moreira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Timo Courtois saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bartolomeu Dias scored 3-5 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Timo Courtois, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bartolomeu Dias in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timo Courtois prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Timo Courtois made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Portugal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
