Honorato Kauldi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. Augusto Ellande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 22nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Jan-Ivar Nordmo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arnout Reekers. That made the score 1-1 in the 26 minute of play. After 28 played minutes Mercedes got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Azibar. 31 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan-Ivar Nordmo. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jan-Ivar Nordmo in the 31st minute. Mercedes's Augusto Ellande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 38th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Ellande breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Honorato Kauldi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 53rd minute Santo Rumaldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mercedes's Alvaro Abar was substituted for Santo Rumaldo. When Honorato Kauldi fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mercedes's protests and gave Honorato Kauldi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th match minute, Mercedes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Kauldi to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 68 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Ellande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augusto Ellande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Augusto Ellande, 1-3. An unexpected shot in the 76th minute by Gijsbert ter Kruimer got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kubat Älibalalı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Augusto Ellande made a huge save. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Mercedes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. At last the ball reached Egbert Nijveldt at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Mercedes. 1-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gijsbert ter Kruimer got free with Augusto Ellande in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Mercedes booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bas Tuitert didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Mercedes's Geovanni Carioca got a free kick in the 91st minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorato Kauldi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mathijn Doctor hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Netherlands eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
