Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Manfredo Quirino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Flavio Vittori made a huge save. 6 minutes into the game, Italy's Porziano Marchitelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wincent Dropinski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfredo Quirino in the 14th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Castanheiro SC's Gilberto Lopes got a free kick in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wincent Dropinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wincent Dropinski saved Castanheiro SC from getting behind. In the 21st minute Italy were awarded a corner. Sigfrido Auletta went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Eliseo Cutri heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Sigfrido Auletta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Wincent Dropinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 26th minute of play forced Castanheiro SC's goalkeeper Wincent Dropinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robben Spoelberchs. 34 minutes in the game, Robben Spoelberchs dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After 38 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Sostene Vitulli. If Siricio Liotta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Romero hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Wincent Dropinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The supporters of Italy booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robben Spoelberchs to make the kick off. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Quirino in the 54th minute of play. Sigfrido Auletta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Wincent Dropinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 60th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Italy's Wincent Dropinski threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Siricio Liotta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 65 minutes into the game, Siricio Liotta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Wincent Dropinski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wincent Dropinski was a little too slow when Zaccheo Andolina got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-3. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Castanheiro SC's Alfredo Stefano. But to his dismay, Alfredo Stefano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Castanheiro SC's Wincent Dropinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 80th minute of play. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Stefano in the 81st minute of play. When Italy's Zaccheo Andolina in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Castanheiro SC's goalie prevented a goal. Zaccheo Andolina who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Wincent Dropinski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Italy's Adriano Curto was substituted for Zaccheo Andolina. After 89 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Igor Ilyin. In the 91st minute, Siricio Liotta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Italy's Guiscardo Davide sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wincent Dropinski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Castanheiro SC's Wincent Dropinski got control of the ball when Porziano Marchitelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Italy eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
