Carol Stinga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timoteo Columbo in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's goal looked a bit too open when Costica Vladimiri came free, but Primo Speranza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Serban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Primo Speranza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rafael Jaume had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costica Vladimiri in the 13th minute of play. Romania were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Academia 1903's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adam Olaru took the corner. The corner led to Romania's Alex Serban getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Carol Stinga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Columbo in the 17th minute of the match. Adam Olaru's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Primo Speranza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Olaru in the 20th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Timoteo Columbo made a precise shot to the right of Carol Stinga. Romania's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The supporters of Romania booed when Academia 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Rincón didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute Sanda Cutov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Primo Speranza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Primo Speranza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sanda Cutov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasile Ciumak in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Primo Speranza saved Academia 1903 from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Jeremias Ezkerra in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Romania's Filip Stefan. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adam Olaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard shot 54 in the game by Sanda Cutov from a close distance when the talented Primo Speranza managed to make a qualified save. Academia 1903's players were relieved. If Sanda Cutov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Academia 1903's Gérard Magyar was substituted for Harald Ek. Academia 1903's Carlos Figueroa was substituted for Aldo Maju. Academia 1903 made a substitution. Nicanor Morenø replaced Timoteo Columbo. Romania's Eugen Nita managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Rafael Jaume in the 61 minute of the game. If Sanda Cutov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Academia 1903 from getting a goal against them. Vasile Ciumak was extremely unlucky when he, in the 66th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Stinga in the 91st minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Romania's Primo Speranza threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anton Stinga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 96th minute Nicanor Morenø shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carol Stinga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
