Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Igor Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leopoldo Loureiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Loureiro in the 14th minute of play. Igor Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Dal 3ello getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Filipe Lamonica hit a great ball. Dal 3ello's Igor Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Dal 3ello booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kees Mooiweer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Leopoldo Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dal 3ello's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Loureiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 44th minute of play forced Dal 3ello's goalkeeper Igor Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 minutes Dal 3ello's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Dal Bello in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81st minute Ronaldo Dal Bello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Dal 3ello booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Meesters didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Dal 3ello's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Igor Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Dal 3ello booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Eikelkamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 91st minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Dal Bello, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Dal 3ello throughout the match.
