Herman Kindermans was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bakos Endre hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Antal Valentin might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herman Kindermans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antal Valentin ran back to his position shaking his head. When Antal Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antal Valentin couldn't finish the play. Herman Kindermans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 14 minutes of play, Hungary's Antal Valentin made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herman Kindermans was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Antal Valentin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. Herman Kindermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Major Barna in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Antal Valentin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Herman Kindermans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 84 minutes Hungary's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Charl Minnen who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Moerhuize getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Felix Cârstea hit a great ball. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Herman Kindermans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Thorsten Klemm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Moerhuize's zone, Antal Valentin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herman Kindermans came out of the goal and Antal Valentin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hungary were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Moerhuize to leave the ground with a draw.
