After a rather tough play, Austria's Leonhard Maier got a free kick in the 11th minute. Luís Gustavo Carvalho hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Júlio Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Schneider in the 17th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Austria's Sandro Galishoff nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júlio Porto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Juninho Paranaense kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Jonas Nalder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fabio Schneider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Porto having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandro Galishoff was the one to do the kick off. If Marvin Harrer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fúria Futebol Clube's zone, Fabio Schneider stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Porto came out of the goal and Fabio Schneider tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Austria's Fabio Auer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Gustavo Carvalho in the 71st minute of play. Juninho Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute, Fabio Schneider left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Austria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Frank Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marvin Harrer kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Austria's attentive Leonhard Maier managed to snatch the ball when Evaristo Mesquita made a throw-in in the 94th minute of the game. Austria's Fabio Schneider got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 96 minutes into the game, Fúria Futebol Clube's Luís Gustavo Carvalho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Auer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Austria's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
