Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Raimundo Ventura kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Raimundo Ventura notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 9 played minutes Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. got a freekick which was hit by 周平荣. 10 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Qiu Chuan Ran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Caetano Moreira almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran did a great save. When Portugal's Felipe Barreto in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalie prevented a goal. In the 25th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Chuan Ran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from 周平荣 in the 27th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Wilson Amorim was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Gonzalo Lixandro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gonzalo Lixandro really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Caetano Moreira struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Qiu Chuan Ran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal. Rodolfo Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Qiu Chuan Ran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Faria in the 41st minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Portugal booed when Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. 周平荣 didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Moura was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Qiu Chuan Ran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felipe Barreto. In the 54th minute of the match Portugal got a corner. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felipe Barreto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Qiu Chuan Ran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustino Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viriato Moura took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Qiu Chuan Ran. Qiu Chuan Ran dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Qiu Chuan Ran in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 60th minute of play forced Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Qiu Chuan Ran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute Gonzalo Lixandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes of play, Portugal's Felipe Barreto made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Qiu Chuan Ran was left in no man's land by his defense there! Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Daniel Pimentel took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Qiu Chuan Ran to make any attempt to save it. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Claudemiro Madureira was substituted for Israel Carvalhal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Lixandro in the 80th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Ventura in the 82nd minute of play. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Raimundo Ventura. But to his dismay, Raimundo Ventura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. With a little luck, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran got control of the ball when Bartolomeu Dias tried to sneak it across the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Lixandro came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Portugal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Portugal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
