Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Manole Otețea started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonhard Maier during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes Austria got a freekick which was hit by Leonhard Maier. Manole Otețea succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 9th playminute. After 12 played minutes FC DACIA BRĂILA got a freekick which was hit by Manole Otețea. FC DACIA BRĂILA's Marcel Greculescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Galishoff in the 16th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC DACIA BRĂILA's Virgil Iftimescu got a free kick in the 17th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Jonas Nalder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Austria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Nalder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manole Otețea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Auer having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manole Otețea got free with Fabio Auer in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sandro Galishoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Marcel Greculescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stelian Milcu charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stelian Milcu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stelian Milcu kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 43 minutes into the match, FC DACIA BRĂILA's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Schneider came free, but Marcel Greculescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC DACIA BRĂILA booed when Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marvin Harrer didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandro Galishoff was the one to do the kick off. FC DACIA BRĂILA's Stelian Milcu got his second yellow card of the match in the 56th minute. The referee ordered Stelian Milcu off the ground. 63 minutes into the game, one of Austria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fabio Auer went to the wrong direction when Virgil Curteanu was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Fabio Schneider fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Greculescu having to interfere. If Gelu Zdrobiş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute of the match Sandro Galishoff shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcel Greculescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Petrică Leluțiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Gelu Zdrobiş left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC DACIA BRĂILA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Marcel Greculescu made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Fabio Schneider sent off a good shot on target. When Jonas Nalder came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Austria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonas Nalder couldn't finish the play. Marcel Greculescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Nalder in the 96th minute of play. Virgil Iftimescu hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Austria's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
