In a very dangerous position, a player in Portugal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Portugal:s Wilson Amorim showed great skill when he stopped Johannes Kruuse:s penalty. Johannes Kruuse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Portugal's Wilson Amorim got control of the ball when Johannes Kruuse tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Johannes Kruuse could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Wilson Amorim however easily saved by the left post. S.C. Corinthians Paulista were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Portugal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maurício Rodrigues took the corner. The corner ended in Maurício Rodrigues almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim did a great save. Faustino Almeida's late challenge caught a S.C. Corinthians Paulista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faustino Almeida helped the player get up and apologised. After 16 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Almeida. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Johannes Kruuse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. After 22 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Graciano Coutinho. In the 23rd minute of the match Maurício Rodrigues sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilson Amorim skillfully saved the ball. Fırat Aytekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. If Caetano Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Johannes Kruuse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. If Johannes Kruuse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Johannes Kruuse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 63 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Johannes Kruuse came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Graciano Coutinho made in the 66th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Felipe Barreto however managed to control. 67 minutes into the match, Johannes Kruuse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Johannes Kruuse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Camillo Giandomenico was substituted for Johannes Kruuse. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. Ronaldinho Gauchet spun around in front of the goal 72 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Portugal's goal. 74 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeu Dias came free, but Fırat Aytekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, Fabricio Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portugal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.C. Corinthians Paulista the free kick. The supporters of S.C. Corinthians Paulista booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fırat Aytekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias got a free kick in the 81st minute. Júnior Baiano made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Portugal's Bruno Bastos. Fırat Aytekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 86th minute of play. In the 89th minute Camillo Giandomenico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 92nd minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Raul Caetano hit a great ball. 95 minutes into the match, Camillo Giandomenico notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
