An unexpectedly hard shot by Lilcho Ilchov in the 5th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Lamela in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, BASEL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Nicanor Loiola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 minutes, Zaccheo Andolina made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. BASEL FC's Nicanor Loiola tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 26 minutes into the match, BASEL FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Nicanor Loiola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicanor Loiola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zaccheo Andolina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Nicanor Loiola made a huge save. Zaccheo Andolina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute Erik Lamela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 60 minutes of play, BASEL FC's Lilcho Ilchov made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 68th minute of the match, Siricio Liotta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nicanor Loiola saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 74th minute, BASEL FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Porziano Marchitelli fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 75th match minute, BASEL FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yaris Kusumadilaga to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute, Zaccheo Andolina reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nicanor Loiola. The goal made the score 1-2. 79 minutes in the game Treno Lentoft did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Edgardo Ekaitz. Nicanor Loiola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 81st minute of play. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Italy's Guiscardo Davide was substituted for Sigfrido Auletta. Italy made a substitution. Adriano Curto replaced Zaccheo Andolina. Italy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Siricio Liotta in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute, Italy's Adriano Curto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicanor Loiola. Nicanor Loiola yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. 95 minutes into the match, BASEL FC's goalkeeper Nicanor Loiola had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guiscardo Davide. The Italy players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
