Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportivo Polonia's Aquilino Velazquez. But to his dismay, Aquilino Velazquez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Xerardo Gasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Club Deportivo Polonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Salazar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st match minute, Club Deportivo Polonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquilino Velazquez to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Carmona came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Deportivo Polonia's Xerardo Gasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 25th minute of play. After 30 played minutes Club Deportivo Polonia got a freekick which was hit by Dolfo Durango. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 34th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Polonia's goalkeeper Xerardo Gasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Polonia's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Xerardo Gasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Netherlands's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dolfo Durango fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Club Deportivo Polonia's Xerardo Gasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Xerardo Gasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Polonia's Xerardo Gasso got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Gust Ennemans hit a great ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Xerardo Gasso made a huge save. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquilino Velazquez in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 85th minute Aquilino Velazquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mathijn Doctor to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute of the match Daniel Diaz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Xerardo Gasso made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Eikelkamp in the 91st minute. Xerardo Gasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 94th minute of the match. Xerardo Gasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 95th minute of play. The Club Deportivo Polonia support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
