Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. 23 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anders Pike. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Eikelkamp during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Klassisk Framtid's Måns Hasselqvist was substituted for Eric Ekrot. Toke Panning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 28th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Klassisk Framtid:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Netherlands:s goal. When Måns Hasselqvist fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Klassisk Framtid's protests and gave Måns Hasselqvist a yellow card for diving instead. Toke Panning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 34th minute of play. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gijsbert ter Kruimer sped through Klassisk Framtid's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Toke Panning. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Toke Panning read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albert Gunnarsson made a kick off. Albert Gunnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 52 minutes into the game, one of Netherlands:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Toke Panning made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Ståhlberg in the 61st minute of play. Toke Panning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 63rd minute of the match. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Gunnarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Axel Ståhlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
