In the 25th match minute, Irreal Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magno Cabral to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Consejo del Mate's Peyo Fonelleda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Noel Braga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Szabolcs Csank made in the 29th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Rodolfo Trigo however managed to control. If Peyo Fonelleda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Consejo del Mate's goal looked a bit too open when Vernon Kinney came free, but Hugo Orlando Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noel Braga came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Consejo del Mate's Peyo Fonelleda. But to his dismay, Peyo Fonelleda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Irreal Madrid made a substitution. Valdir Varela replaced Rachid Dib. Julio Kemen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Braga having to interfere. Hugo Orlando Gatti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Vernon Kinney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
