Naycho Chureshki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a huge save. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu in the 17th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sava Ralovski during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sava Ralovski kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the match, Serbia's Sreten Popovic sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diyan Kúrdzhiev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Naycho Chureshki sent off a good shot on target. Diyan Kúrdzhiev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sreten Popovic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diyan Kúrdzhiev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sreten Popovic, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sreten Popovic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sreten Popovic recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pavel Dashinov in the 72nd minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pavel Dashinov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Naycho Chureshki might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Naycho Chureshki ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. In the 78th minute, Sava Ralovski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu in the 80th minute of play. Ahmet Refik Mertoğlu scored 5-0 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
