The crowd rose to their feet as SCs StarS's Jordy Dirks slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabio Auer. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. Thiago Gol scored 2-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabio Auer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Austria's goalkeeper Fabio Auer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thiago Gol. SCs StarS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Florian Hekman in the 19th minute. A well done corner resulted in Luka Ramos drilling the ball in to score 3-0 behind Austria's goalkeeper. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Gol in the 23rd minute of play forced Austria's goalkeeper Fabio Auer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, Thiago Gol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Fabio Auer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thiago Gol might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabio Auer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thiago Gol ran back to his position shaking his head. Thiago Gol scored 6-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabio Auer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Austria's zone, Florian Hekman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Auer came out of the goal and Florian Hekman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandro Galishoff made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Thiago Gol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabio Auer was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Matthijs Ebbinge missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 58 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Fabio Auer right hand side. The SCs StarS fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when SCs StarS's Thiago Gol looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of SCs StarS booed when Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Wallner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florian Hekman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fabio Auer. Austria's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Florian Hekman, 83 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. SCs StarS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. SCs StarS's supporters rose to their feet, but Thiago Gol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Auer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SCs StarS's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
