Gabriel Ascaso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Meldris Ruckanovs fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RED BLUE STAR's protests and gave Meldris Ruckanovs a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to RED BLUE STAR getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Meldris Ruckanovs hit a great ball. Karol Pierz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute Eugen Văleanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sorin Manciu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Omar Toledo in the 54th minute. After taking down the ball on Spain's corner Omar Toledo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karol Pierz quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Spain booed when RED BLUE STAR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Dragnea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Spain fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Spain's Omar Toledo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Omar Toledo in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karol Pierz saved RED BLUE STAR from getting behind. In the 62nd minute of the match, Omar Toledo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Karol Pierz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gabriel Ascaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sorin Manciu in the 63rd minute of play. Karol Pierz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adria Bielsa in the 65th minute of play. Eugen Văleanu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gabriel Ascaso having to make a save. Carles Cherro might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karol Pierz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carles Cherro ran back to his position shaking his head. Carles Cherros short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Karol Pierz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adria Bielsa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Spain made a substitution. Sergio Ruiz replaced Adria Bielsa. Karol Pierz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Ruiz in the 93rd minute of the match. Spain's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jon Cubero in the 94th minute. In the 97th match minute, RED BLUE STAR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Dragnea to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Spain could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than RED BLUE STAR throughout the match.
