Magne Gunnarsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Rönnöfors FF booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egbert Nijveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Rönnöfors FF's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Per Tunström, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Kees Mooiweer got a free kick in the 15th minute. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per Tunström might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Reekers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per Tunström ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 28th minute, Per Tunström made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Rönnöfors FF's Edwin Ahlstedt got a free kick in the 30th minute. Magne Gunnarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 32nd minute of the match. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Tunström in the 34th minute of play. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. The throw-in from Egbert Nijveldt in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Rönnöfors FF's Edwin Ahlstedt. With a little luck, Rönnöfors FF's Magne Gunnarsson got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rönnöfors FF's Bertil Hellgren got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Magne Gunnarsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran back to his position shaking his head. Rönnöfors FF's Sigvard Biörnberg was substituted for Olimpiu Mirciulescu. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Rönnöfors FF's Ivar Häll got a free kick in the 70th minute. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Magne Gunnarsson threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kees Mooiweer kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Per Tunström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per Tunström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Stenberg in the 90th minute of play. 94 minutes in the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Magne Gunnarsson having to interfere.
