Denis Dostal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Czech Republic's Denis Dostal suffered a concussion in the 7th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Czech Republic made a substitution. Karel Blazek replaced Denis Dostal. In the 8th minute, Manfred Valström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Håkan Deckbergh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Jilek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Vitaliy Krylatov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erik Jilek, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Manfred Valström lost his temper 18 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to IFK Göteborg getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Manfred Valström hit a great ball. In the 20th minute Benjamin Åström suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bohumir Kohout during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bohumir Kohout hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The supporters of Czech Republic booed when IFK Göteborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uno Grep didn't get a good kick on the ball. IFK Göteborg's Håkan Deckbergh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Jilek in the 24th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Alan Rezek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Karel Blazek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the game, Czech Republic's Karel Blazek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Håkan Deckbergh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 43rd minute, Uno Grep hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Jilek came free, but Håkan Deckbergh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of IFK Göteborg booed when Czech Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Rezek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Czech Republic's Kvetoslav Janku got a free kick in the 46th minute. After 47 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Uno Grep. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karel Blazek in the 48th minute of play forced IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Håkan Deckbergh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Erik Jilek was the one to do the kick off. When Alan Rezek fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Czech Republic's protests and gave Alan Rezek a yellow card for diving instead. Alan Rezek kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Czech Republic's Karel Blazek dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. After 59 played minutes Erik Jilek rounded IFK Göteborg's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. Håkan Deckbergh came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Czech Republic's Karel Blazek. But to his dismay, Karel Blazek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After recieving a nice pass, IFK Göteborg's Axel Pååk tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Erik Jilek notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of IFK Göteborg's Håkan Deckbergh. Håkan Deckbergh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Axel Pååk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Håkan Deckbergh was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Karel Blazek showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 82 minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Alan Rezek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Håkan Deckbergh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alan Rezek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Håkan Deckbergh made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Axel Pååk managed to get in a good position for a shot. IFK Göteborg's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Pååk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vavrinec Holub breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kvetoslav Janku charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kvetoslav Janku the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
