Kiril Biradzhiev hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Corinthians's Jaime Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 6th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 8th minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Jaime Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Corinthians's Cristiano Messi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fodor Daniel. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. In the 23rd minute Hegedus Henrik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Hegedus Henrik left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hungary fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jaime Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. The referee showed Fred Royal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fodor Daniel made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Natã Pirani sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 34th minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Jaime Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If González Speed had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Boros Benedek was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 47 minutes into the match. Natã Pirani did an outstanding performance 50 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-1 to the right of an irritated Fodor Daniel in the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Messi was the one to do the kick off. González Speed struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians. After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Fred Royal got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute of the match Hungary got a corner. Corinthians's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antal Valentin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Hungary's Bakos Endre getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Messi in the 70th minute of play. Corinthians's Natã Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristiano Messi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. In the 81st minute Cristiano Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natã Pirani in the 85th minute of the match. Cristiano Messi's late challenge caught a Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristiano Messi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Messi to maneuver through the defense. Takacs Tibor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Royal, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 95 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goalkeeper Jaime Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Takacs Tibor. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Messi in the 97th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natã Pirani in the 99th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, Corinthians could leave the field as winners, despite Hungary having more of the ball for most of the match.
