A collision led to BLACK LIONS getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Cui Ting Guang hit a great ball. Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Justo Musko. Justo Musko dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, BLACK LIONS's Esteve Udalaitz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnout Reekers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 13th minute Esteve Udalaitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Justo Musko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 21st minute of the match. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Justo Musko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. 26 minutes into the match, BLACK LIONS's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Justo Musko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when Wim Wilmes in the 27th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zdzislaw Motowski in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute BLACK LIONS were awarded a corner. Isaias Iratxo went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 33rd minute of play forced BLACK LIONS's goalkeeper Justo Musko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Lars Meesters had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Justo Musko. BLACK LIONS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lars Meesters was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

In the 51st match minute, BLACK LIONS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteve Udalaitz to maneuver through the defense. In the 52nd minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Justo Musko was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 53rd minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. BLACK LIONS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Justo Musko in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 59th minute, Zdzislaw Motowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Justo Musko came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 64th minute of the match, Lars Meesters tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Justo Musko saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Esteve Udalaitz came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the BLACK LIONS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteve Udalaitz couldn't finish the play. Justo Musko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cebo Ponte in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. The supporters of Netherlands booed when BLACK LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Iratxo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute, Isaias Iratxo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The BLACK LIONS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Netherlands's performance. The match ended with a win for Netherlands.
