Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) FC Lugano's Florian Diederich started the match with a crisp pass. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Jilek in the 19th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Godo Gøl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fidelio Haller hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik Jilek in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godo Gøl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute of the game Bohumir Kohout made a throw-in which David Rusil played forward. FC Lugano's Claus Pratter quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alan Rezek, made in the 30th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Czech Republic's Daniel Vitek got a free kick in the 31st minute. 33 minutes into the game, Dalimil Charvat threw the ball into play from the sideline. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dieter Gärtner in the 73rd minute of play forced Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dieter Gärtner's late challenge caught a Czech Republic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dieter Gärtner helped the player get up and apologised. In the 75th match minute, FC Lugano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dieter Gärtner to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, Julio Palluzzi notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Czech Republic's Vavrinec Holub. Vavrinec Holub was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
