U21 Bolivia's Artur Abechuco got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. U21 Bolivia's Lope Abellaneda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Prunty in the 15th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, U21 Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when Salvadore Abaunza came free, but Richard Duggan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Abechuco during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Artur Abechuco hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Lope Abellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brayden McPaul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 minutes U21 Bolivia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bowie Dillon who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Seoirse McJon managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. U21 Bolivia's Lope Abellaneda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Bolivia from getting a goal against them. A collision led to U21 Ireland getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Bowie Dillon hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brayden McPaul in the 40th minute of play forced U21 Bolivia's goalkeeper Lope Abellaneda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bowie Dillon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eustacio Abeitia during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of U21 Ireland booed when U21 Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Abeitia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

U21 Bolivia made a substitution. Américo Díaz replaced Rolando Abella. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brayden McPaul to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Bolivia's zone, Glen Prunty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lope Abellaneda came out of the goal and Glen Prunty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lope Abellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bowie Dillon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute U21 Bolivia were awarded a corner. Américo Díaz went to the cornerflag to take it. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Américo Díaz sped through U21 Ireland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Richard Duggan. When U21 Ireland's Brayden McPaul, in the 81st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for U21 Ireland. In the 84th minute, Cidro Abajas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Bolivia's Lope Abellaneda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brayden McPaul in the 86th minute of play. Américo Díaz kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match.
