Godo Gøl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zac O'Donnell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Godo Gøl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fletcher Main, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Julio Palluzzi took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Alexander Higgins to make any attempt to save it. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jaxson Russell made in the 13th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Lugano's Claus Pratter. Julio Palluzzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Godo Gøl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fletcher Main, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Robert McNeill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Lugano's Fidelio Haller managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Kian MacGregor in the 25 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Scotland's zone, Jirko Bur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexander Higgins came out of the goal and Jirko Bur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Julio Palluzzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lugano's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Palluzzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Higgins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Palluzzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Alexander Higgins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Godo Gøl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zac O'Donnell in the 39th minute of the match. The throw-in from Kian MacGregor in the 44th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Lugano's Claus Pratter. Claus Pratter struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Alexander Higgins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Lugano. If Julio Palluzzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florian Diederich to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Dieter Gärtner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Scotland's Alexander Higgins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jirko Bur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the game, Florian Diederich was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Lugano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Scotland the free kick. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Florian Diederich got a free kick in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Zac O'Donnell came free, but Godo Gøl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zac O'Donnell in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godo Gøl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Godo Gøl made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Fletcher Main sent off a good shot on target. Robert McNeill struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Godo Gøl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scotland. Fletcher Main's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Godo Gøl skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 66th minute of the game Kayden Ward made a throw-in which Ashton Nelson played forward. Fletcher Main in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Godo Gøl, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Florian Diederich received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Alexander Higgins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Kian MacGregor in the 74th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Lugano's Claus Pratter. Jirko Bur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Godo Gøl stood somewhat misplaced when Zac O'Donnell came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 78 minute. Ayaan McGowan made in the 82nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Robert McNeill. Ayaan McGowan made in the 85th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Lugano's Tade Zeller. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jirko Bur in the 88th minute of play forced Scotland's goalkeeper Alexander Higgins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Lugano booed when Scotland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ayaan McGowan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Dieter Gärtner managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lugano's supporters rose to their feet, but Dieter Gärtner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexander Higgins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Although FC Lugano had been in control for most of the match, Scotland still came away with the win.
